Virginia Tech football defeats Old Dominion 44-21 in Blacksburg

Virginia Tech improved to 2-0 on the season following a 44-21 victory over Old Dominion on Saturday. The Hokies established an early 17-0 lead in the first quarter, aided by defensive scores from Keon Wylie and Tyson Flowers. Quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer finished the contest with 327 passing yards and three total touchdowns, connecting with 11 different receivers. Despite the win, the Virginia Tech rushing attack struggled to gain momentum, totaling only 89 yards on 42 attempts. The Monarchs managed a late scoring response, including a 76-yard touchdown run by quarterback Quinn Henicle. The Hokies now prepare for their first road game of the season against the Maryland Terrapins.
