Von Miller recounts his 2008 decision to remain at Texas A&M

In 2008, Von Miller attempted to leave Texas A&M after being suspended by head coach Mike Sherman. Miller had packed his belongings and was driving away from College Station when a conversation with his father persuaded him to return to the university. Upon his return, a meeting with Sherman established new expectations for Miller, including academic requirements and adherence to team roles. Miller accepted these terms and continued his collegiate career with the Aggies. His subsequent performance led to him becoming a dominant defensive force, eventually recording 17.5 sacks in a single season. The experience preceded his selection as the No. 2 overall pick by the Denver Broncos in the NFL draft.
