Atarah Robinson of Venice High has been named the Herald-Tribune Girls Athlete of the Year for 2026. Robinson excelled in track and field, winning the 1600 meters with a time of 4:46.50 at the Class 4A Track & Field State Championships and achieving the fastest mile time in the state. While Robinson is the staff’s selection, readers can vote for their preferred athlete till July 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. The winners will be announced on Instagram.
