The Marion Star is hosting a poll for voters to select the Football Player of the Week for Week 2, ending on Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. The nominees include Elgin's Archer Johnston, who scored three touchdowns against Ridgedale, and Pleasant's Weston Shaffer, who rushed for 389 yards and threw three touchdown passes against Triad. Other candidates are Kadin St. Clair from Mount Gilead, who had a standout defensive performance, and Cardington-Lincoln's Dillion Donkin. Fans can vote multiple times for their favorites through the Marion Star website or app.
