The Messenger/Herald football player of the week poll is open for voting from 3 p.m. Monday until 3 p.m. Friday, August 28. This poll highlights standout performances from Week 1 of high school football. Among the candidates are Micah Miller, who scored four rushing touchdowns in Oak Harbor's win over Huron, and Ike Brown, who contributed a touchdown, an interception, and a passing score in Bellevue's victory against Clyde. Zacarius Burel also shines with an 83-yard kickoff return touchdown for Fremont Ross over Tiffin Columbian.
