As the 2026 OSAA high school football season approaches, the Statesman Journal has opened voting for the most impactful quarterback in the Salem-Keizer area. Nominees include Kellen Bowman from South Salem, who led Class 6A in passing yards last season, and JT Girod of Central, who threw for over 1,500 yards with a strong touchdown-to-interception ratio. Other candidates are Thomas Hess, Noah Hockett, and Tevita Lata among others, each with notable past performances. Voting will remain open until noon on August 10, with details available at statesmanjournal.com/sports.
