The News Leader is hosting a poll for its athlete of the week, recognizing accomplishments between September 21-26. Nominees include Jaden Humphrey, who scored three touchdowns for Buffalo Gap in a 41-21 victory over Fort Defiance, and Berkeley Gibb, named Shenandoah District golfer of the year after shooting a 77. Other nominees include Kendal Edwards and Zakarre Hymes-Williams for football, and Bree Kindig for volleyball. The voting ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, with the winner announced over the weekend.
