Voting is now open for the Florida Power & Light Pensacola Girls Athlete of the Week from September 7-12. Nominees include standout athletes from cross country, golf, swimming, and volleyball, with voters having until 11 a.m. Saturday to cast their ballots. Last week saw Gulf Breeze’s Ashton Dahlem secure the girls award with 72.3 percent of the vote. The program has had success, with another athlete, Owen Tucker, winning the boys award. Results will be announced each Monday, and winners will receive a PNJ Athlete of the Week shirt.
