Wales select eight uncapped players for upcoming WXV Global Series squad

Wales head coach Lynn named a 39-strong squad featuring eight uncapped players for the upcoming WXV Global Series. Back-row forwards Alex Callender and Kate Williams will serve as co-captains for the upcoming Tests against South Africa and the USA at Cardiff Arms Park. The inclusion of new talent follows a period of preparation intended to improve team performance after a sequence of nine Test defeats. The squad will also travel to Japan for matches in Tokyo and Kumagaya in October. Several players who participated in the June match against the Barbarians remain in the selection pool. The team is currently ranked 12th globally and intends to hold a practice match to assist with final preparations for the opener against South Africa on September 18.
