Wales women's sprint team reaches gold medal race at Commonwealth Games

The Wales women's sprint cycling team, consisting of Emma Finucane, Rhian Edmunds, and Lowri Thomas, recorded a new Commonwealth Games record in qualifying with a time of 46.972 seconds. They will compete for gold against England at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome today at 18:15 BST, ensuring at least a silver medal, an upgrade from their bronze finish in Birmingham 2022. The men's team also qualified for the bronze final against Trinidad and Tobago at 18:20 BST, having finished fourth in qualifying at 44.075 seconds.
