Walker Zimmerman fined by MLS Disciplinary Committee for late exit

Toronto FC defender Walker Zimmerman has been fined by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for not leaving the field promptly during the 56th minute of a match against Charlotte FC on August 19. This ruling is part of a series of decisions issued following Matchday 21 of the 2026 MLS season. In addition to Zimmerman's fine, Lionel Messi and Ian Fray of Inter Miami CF were also penalized for violations involving hands to the face during their match against the Philadelphia Union. Minnesota United FC defender Anthony Markanich received a fine for simulation in a match against Atlanta United.
