Warwickshire defeats Hampshire by an innings at the Utilita Bowl

Warwickshire secured a victory over Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl, winning by an innings and 129 runs within three days of play. After posting 398 in their first innings, Warwickshire bowled Hampshire out for 115 and then 154 after the hosts were forced to follow on. Spinner Manav Suthar took seven wickets across the match to help keep his team in the County Championship Division One title race. The win moves Warwickshire within five points of leaders Somerset. For Hampshire, the result leaves them 31 points away from safety with three matches remaining in the season. Hampshire’s next two fixtures are scheduled away from home against Nottingham and Leicester before their final game back in Southampton on 24 September.
