Washington Commanders release Shy Tuttle to adjust 53-man roster

The Washington Commanders are releasing veteran defensive tackle Shy Tuttle as part of final roster management ahead of the NFL regular season. Despite the release, the team intends to re-sign the 30-year-old defensive lineman before the start of Week 1. Tuttle, who originally joined the Commanders late last season after a stint with the Tennessee Titans, signed an extension with Washington this past March. He has appeared in 107 career games since entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2019.
