The Washington Commanders have signed defensive tackle Byron Cowart to bolster their defensive line after D.J. Davidson's retirement. Cowart, a four-year NFL veteran, participated in a tryout with the team alongside seven other defensive players. He has played 51 games and started 21 since being drafted by the New England Patriots in 2019, and has also spent time with the Colts, Bears, and on the Jets' practice squad. The Commanders are expected to announce a corresponding roster move soon.
