Washington Commanders sign center Trey Hill to bolster roster depth

The Washington Commanders have signed center Trey Hill to enhance their depth at the position ahead of the first padded practice of training camp. The move comes after starting center Nick Allegretti suffered a calf strain, with expectations for his return in about a week. Hill, a former sixth-round pick, previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals and other teams but spent the 2023 season out of the game. His signing aims to provide competition in a position currently challenged by injury and limited options. The Commanders released cornerback Tre Hawkins to accommodate Hill's addition.
