Washington Huskies prepare for Labor Day weekend Apple Cup match

The Washington Huskies are in game-week preparations for a Labor Day weekend matchup against Washington State. This upcoming contest marks the first Apple Cup held during the opening week of the season since the schools last played as conference opponents in 2023. Beyond football, Washington athletics continue their fall campaigns. The No. 11 women’s soccer team defeated Oregon State 2-1, while the men’s soccer team lost to the same opponent in a seven-goal game in Corvallis. Additionally, the volleyball team finished the Husky Invitational with a 3-0 record, and Washington alumni secured 16 medals at the 2026 World Rowing Championships.
