Washington punter Hunter Green named to Ray Guy Award watch list
Summary

Hunter Green, senior punter for the Washington Huskies, has been named to the 2026 preseason Ray Guy Award watch list. The award is given annually to the best punter in college football and evaluates players based on average distance and performance metrics. Green, a transfer from San Diego State, finished last season with the Aztecs ranking No. 6 in punt average and No. 13 in attempts. He joins Maryland's Bryce McFerson as the only representatives from the Big Ten Conference on the watch list. Green aims to continue his success after achieving second-team All-Mountain West honors last season. His goal is to leave a mark as the first Husky to win the award since 2021.
