Washington Sundar passes fitness test for India T20I series against Afghanistan

Washington Sundar has been cleared to join the India squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in New Delhi. The allrounder successfully completed a match simulation exercise at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on September 4. While Sundar is available, the availability of teammates Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, and Nitish Kumar Reddy remains uncertain pending a second round of fitness tests. Those three players are scheduled for further assessments on Wednesday, with final medical reports expected shortly after. Hardik Pandya remains unavailable for the series due to an ongoing leg strain. Shreyas Iyer will lead the India squad, which is largely consistent with the group slated for the upcoming Asian Games.
