Washington will honor its 2016 playoff team during the Apple Cup

University of Washington officials announced plans to welcome members of the 2016 football team back to campus during Sunday's Apple Cup. The 2016 roster, coached by Chris Petersen, finished with a 12-2 record and secured the program's first outright Pac-12 Championship since 1992. That season culminated in an appearance in the Peach Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal against Alabama. The celebration marks a decade since the team helped return Washington to national prominence. Current head coach Jedd Fisch is looking to mirror that trajectory as his program develops its current roster of young talent. The upcoming event serves as a recognition of the milestones achieved by former standout players including Jake Browning, Myles Gaskin, and Budda Baker.
