Watford signs former West Ham striker Michail Antonio on one-year deal

Watford has signed 36-year-old striker Michail Antonio to a one-year contract on a free transfer. The move follows a month-long trial period where the former West Ham United player trained with the club. Antonio, a Jamaican international, was released by West Ham in June 2025 after a decade-long tenure and briefly played for Qatari club Al-Sailiya. He previously missed potential moves to Leicester City and Brentford due to injury setbacks, including a broken leg sustained in late 2024. The striker will wear the number 18 shirt for the Hornets. Pending international clearance, he could debut in Saturday's Championship home match against Stoke City. Watford currently sits 12th in the league table under manager Alessio Dionisi.
