Wendell Gregory records two sacks as Kansas State limits Washington State offense

Kansas State defensive end Wendell Gregory led a defensive effort that held Washington State scoreless throughout the contest on September 12. The junior recorded two sacks against quarterback Caden Pinnick and contributed three of the team's eight tackles for loss. While the Wildcats defense limited the Washington State offense to 166 total yards, the Cougar defense provided the only points for the visitors. Safety Jaylen Thomas recorded two interceptions for Washington State, including a 50-yard pick-six that narrowed the Kansas State lead to 17-7 just before halftime. Kansas State moved to a 27-7 lead in the third quarter following a field goal set up by Gregory's second sack of the game. Despite the defensive output from Thomas, the Washington State offense failed to convert on third downs, finishing the game with only two conversions.
