Wes Mendes of Florida State University has been recognized as the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for baseball following his junior season. Mendes maintained a 4.00 GPA in social science during the spring 2026 semester and earned All-ACC Academic Team honors for the second consecutive year. He excelled on the field, recording a 9-1 record with a 2.81 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 93 innings. Mendes was also a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and is projected as an early-round pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.
