West Ham acquire defender Morato on loan from Nottingham Forest

West Ham completed the signing of defender Morato from Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal. The 25-year-old Brazilian previously played under West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who brought him to Nottingham Forest in August 2024. Morato made 37 appearances for the club last term as they reached the Europa League semi-finals. Having progressed through the youth ranks at Sao Paulo, the defender also spent time with Benfica where he gained experience in Champions League and Europa League competition. Morato now joins the West Ham squad to support their pursuit of a return to the Premier League. The transfer coincides with the final day of the current registration window.
