West Virginia aims for bowl eligibility under Rich Rodriguez
Summary

The West Virginia Mountaineers will enter the 2026 season under coach Rich Rodriguez, seeking to improve from a 4-8 record in his first year. Rodriguez, who previously had success with the program, is focusing on quarterback competition with Michael Hawkins Jr. and returning player Scotty Fox Jr. Along with a revamped offensive line and the addition of key players, including running back Cam Cook, the Mountaineers hope to make strides after a challenging previous season. A tough schedule awaits, with crucial games against TCU, Texas Tech, Kansas, Houston, and Utah likely determining their bowl eligibility.
