West Virginia retires number five for former quarterback Pat White

West Virginia is retiring the jersey of former quarterback Pat White during a ceremony this Saturday. White played four seasons in Morgantown, accumulating 6,049 passing yards and 4,480 rushing yards while winning a bowl game in each of his four years. During his Mountaineers tenure, he finished with a 35-8 record as a starter and accounted for 103 total touchdowns. Following his collegiate success, the Miami Dolphins selected White in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He appeared in 13 games for Miami before a significant head injury ended his NFL career. The university is honoring his collegiate contributions by removing his number five from circulation.
