Westlake volleyball places fourth at the LISD Volleypalooza tournament

Westlake volleyball secured fourth place at the 68-team LISD Volleypalooza tournament held last weekend. The team compiled a 7-2 overall record, with its only losses coming against nationally ranked opponents Plano Prestonwood Christian and Duncanville. After advancing to the gold bracket, the Chaps secured a 25-19, 25-20 victory over Antonian Prep Academy before falling to Prestonwood Christian in the semifinals. In the third-place match, Westlake fell in three sets to 14th-ranked Duncanville. Geralynn Byers-Veal and Clayton Kelly represented Westlake on the all-tournament team. Elsewhere in the tournament, Lewisville Hebron claimed the championship title by defeating Preston Christian in straight sets, while local teams Round Rock and Lake Travis secured victories in the Silver A and Silver B brackets respectively.
