White Sox call up Jacob Gonzalez after placing Murakami on IL

Summary

The Chicago White Sox placed Munetaka Murakami on the 10-day injured list due to a Grade 2 right hamstring strain, expected to sideline him for four to six weeks. Murakami had been a standout in his rookie season, leading the American League in runs scored. In response, the White Sox have selected Jacob Gonzalez's contract from Triple-A Charlotte, where he has shined with a.317 batting average, 19 home runs, and 62 RBIs this season. This call-up marks Gonzalez's first chance in the majors, providing the White Sox an opportunity to evaluate his potential.
