White Sox promote outfielder Braden Montgomery from Triple-A

The Chicago White Sox have called up outfielder Braden Montgomery from Triple-A Charlotte. Montgomery, 23, is ranked as the White Sox’s No. 2 prospect. He began the season at Double-A Birmingham and was impressive in 29 games at Triple-A, hitting.315 with four home runs. He made the team as a result of the trade that sent Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox. Montgomery is expected to make his Major League debut within the week.
