Wichita State volleyball opens conference play with win over Memphis

Wichita State volleyball secured a 3-1 victory against Memphis in its American Conference opener on Friday night at Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-22 before Memphis claimed the third set 25-21. Wichita State regained momentum in the fourth set, finishing strong at 25-21 to seal the match. McKenzie Jones led Wichita State with 13 kills. The match featured 22 ties and nine lead changes. The Shockers improved to 4-9 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while Memphis fell to 5-7 and 0-1 in the league. Wichita State will face South Florida next on Sunday at noon.
