Wigan Athletic signs striker Scott Hogan to short-term contract

Wigan Athletic added former Republic of Ireland international Scott Hogan to their roster on a short-term deal lasting until January. The 34-year-old forward arrives as a free agent following his departure from MK Dons at the conclusion of last season. His addition is intended to provide immediate depth to the Wigan attack, which has struggled to generate consistent scoring early in the current League One campaign. Hogan previously played for Birmingham City before moving to MK Dons in October 2024. Throughout his career, he has spent time at several clubs including Brentford, Aston Villa, Rochdale, Stoke, and Sheffield United. He now looks to bolster Wigan's frontline as they attempt to improve their form during the first half of the season.
