Will Grier retires, joins Dallas Cowboys coaching staff

Will Grier has concluded his brief return to the NFL with the Carolina Panthers after 85 days, opting for a coaching role with the Dallas Cowboys. Grier initially joined the Panthers as a quarterback on April 21 but retired on July 15. He confirmed his position as an offensive assistant with the Cowboys on July 24, where he will start working at the upcoming training camp. Grier's playing career was marked by limited appearances, with his last notable season as a rookie in 2019. His transition to coaching comes after Dallas had previously offered him a position earlier in the offseason, which he declined to pursue an active playing opportunity with Carolina.
