Will McLachlan requests trade to Melbourne from Brisbane Lions
Summary

Brisbane forward Will McLachlan has requested a trade to Melbourne ahead of the 2027 season. McLachlan has struggled for opportunities with the Lions, playing only once in their premiership campaign this year after making his debut in 2025. He excelled in the VFL, scoring 35 goals in 11 games. The Lions remain keen to retain him, citing his potential similar to teammate Kai Lohmann. McLachlan met with both the Demons and Essendon earlier this week as he pursues a move to Melbourne.
