Willem van Hanegem criticizes shifting views on Guus Til's performance

Willem van Hanegem has voiced his concern over the inconsistent public opinion surrounding players in the Netherlands national team, particularly Guus Til and Joey Veerman. After a 2-2 draw with Greece, Til's performance came under scrutiny despite earlier praise for his work against Serbia. Van Hanegem highlighted that fans quickly change their views on players' contributions based on single performances, pointing to the variable perceptions of Til and others like Veerman and Joshua Zirkzee. He urged younger players to withstand this volatility and focus on their long-term development. The Netherlands has played four matches under coach Xavi Hernandez, winning twice and drawing twice, showcasing several PSV-linked players in the process.
