Willow Nightingale injured ahead of AEW All In title defense

Mercedes Mone provides new information about getting hurt at AEW All In: London against Willow Nightingale.

Mercedes Moné challenged Willow Nightingale for the AEW women’s world championship today (Aug. 30) at All In London. Willow walked into the match with a broken hand, but she dished out the damage right back to The CEO by busting up her nose early in the bout. The commentators speculated that Mercedes was almost certainly dealing with a broken nose as her blood spilled out. The punishment was brutal in this match, with Willow suplexing Mercedes to the outside and then hitting a Spanish Fly back inside the ring. It looked like a turning point when Nightingale tried to get Mone up for the Doctor Bomb finish, but Mercedes rammed her into the exposed steel turnbuckle. Mercedes followed up with the Mone Maker, but Willow somehow kicked out before the three count. There was a ref bump shortly after that. She executed the Doctor Bomb this time, but the woozy ref was just a little too slow to get the count started, and Mone kicked out before three. Willow continued the attack on Mone’s spine with a buckle bomb into the exposed steel. Nightingale climbed up for another powerbomb, but The CEO countered with a hurricanrana. Mercedes went for the Mone Maker, but it was countered into a backslide for a two count. Mercedes then countered the next Doctor Bomb into the Statement Maker submission. She clawed at Willow’s smile and adjusted her grip into more of a stranglehold until Nightingale passed out. STATEMENT MAKER IS LOCKED IN! Earlier this week on Dynamite, Mercedes Moné mangled the hand of Willow Nightingale. Rumblings came out that the injury wasn’t just for show. Willow suffered a hand injury, then AEW shot that scene to explain the injury on screen. Willow has a date with Mercedes to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In on Sunday (Aug. 30, 2026), so there were questions if the injury would impact Willow’s availability for the match. During Collision, AEW offered an update on Willow’s status. Commentary explained that they don’t know the severity of Willow’s injury, but she is cleared to compete at All In.
