Willson Contreras exits Red Sox game against White Sox due to illness

Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras left Wednesday night's game against the Chicago White Sox after four innings at Fenway Park. Interim manager Chad Tracy reported Contreras was feeling ill, experiencing dizziness, and had an elevated temperature. Prior to his exit, he contributed offensively with an RBI single and defensively by retiring a runner at home. This is the second time in less than a week that Contreras has left a game early, having exited a previous game following a head injury. Contreras has been a key player for the Red Sox since joining from the St. Louis Cardinals, holding a.288 batting average this season.
