Willson Contreras injured as Red Sox secure sixth straight win

On July 7, 2026, the Boston Red Sox triumphed over the Chicago White Sox 5-0 at Guaranteed Rate Field, extending their winning streak. However, the night was marred by injuries to key players Willson Contreras and Anthony Seigler, both of whom sustained contusions. Contreras was replaced at first base by Romy Gonzalez, while Seigler left the game for Andruw Monasterio. Jake Bennett pitched seven innings, contributing to the victory despite the injuries. Updates on the status of Contreras and Seigler are pending.
