Windsurfers gather at Weymouth for the iQFOiL World Championships

The iQFOiL World Championships begin this Monday at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy in Dorset. Up to 250 athletes from more than 40 nations are scheduled to participate in the six-day event. Defending women's world champion Emma Wilson and men's titleholder Andy Brown lead the field of competitors navigating the hydrofoil boards. The venue previously hosted sailing and windsurfing during the 2012 London Olympic Games. A fan zone at Weymouth Pavilion will offer screenings and athlete interviews throughout the competition. The event, which serves as the first major iQFOiL championship held in the United Kingdom, concludes with the determination of world titles.
