Wisconsin Badgers guard Emerson Mandell remains sidelined during fall camp

Wisconsin Badgers guard Emerson Mandell has yet to participate in fall camp after undergoing a foot procedure in the spring. Head coach Luke Fickell acknowledged that Mandell's recovery has been slower than anticipated. With Mandell and Kevin Heywood injured, backups Blake Cherry and Stylz Blackmon have the opportunity to earn first-team reps at guard before the season opener against Notre Dame next month. Fickell emphasized the importance of this competition for the development of younger players at the position.
