Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Mason Posa makes Bednarik Award watchlist

Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Mason Posa has been named to the Bednarik Award preseason watchlist for college football's defensive player of the year. After a promising freshman season with 58 tackles, four sacks, and two forced fumbles, Posa is set to be a full-time starter in 2026. This follows his previous selection to the Butkus Award watchlist, which honors the top linebacker. 19 players from the Big Ten Conference are included on the Bednarik watchlist this year, with a total of 91 players recognized nationwide.
