Wisconsin lineman Emerson Mandell continues recovery from foot injury

Wisconsin football coach Luke Fickell provided an injury update during Big Ten media days on July 28. Redshirt sophomore Emerson Mandell is recovering from a foot injury sustained in spring practice, which required surgery and limited his participation in spring workouts. Mandell's recovery challenges may impact his availability when fall camp begins on August 6. Fickell noted that Mandell will have limited reps initially, and his progress will be monitored over the first three weeks of camp. Meanwhile, Blake Cherry and Stylz Blackmon are expected to receive increased reps as they rotate at left guard during Mandell's absence.
