Wisconsin volleyball ascends to number five in AVCA rankings

The Wisconsin Badgers volleyball program moved to No. 5 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, despite holding a 1-3 record to open the season. Coaches elevated the team in recognition of a difficult non-conference schedule that featured four opponents ranked within the top seven. Wisconsin opened the season by facing No. 3 Kentucky and No. 7 Louisville, earning a sweep against the latter. The Badgers subsequently lost in four sets to No. 5 Stanford and were swept by No. 4 Pittsburgh. These rankings were updated on August 30, following the team's early stretch of competitive matches against top-tier opponents. The program continues to face a rigorous slate of games as the season progresses.
