Anthony Davis became eligible for a contract extension with the Washington Wizards on August 6, but discussions will wait until the season. Davis, who the Wizards acquired from the Dallas Mavericks at the 2026 trade deadline, has yet to play for the team. He averaged 20.4 points and 11.1 rebounds across 20 games for Dallas last season. In addition to Davis, the Wizards signed Trae Young to a four-year, $212 million deal this summer and selected AJ Dybantsa with the first overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Washington aims to improve next season after winning only 50 games combined over the last three years.
