WNBA addresses Enes Kanter, Royce White draft declarations amid scrutiny

Summary

The WNBA's anti-hate task force met on August 12, 2026, to discuss controversies surrounding the league, particularly the draft declarations of former NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White. Both players claim eligibility under the league's rules impacting transgender athletes. The league released a statement condemning 'bad-faith efforts' to exploit ongoing discussions about inclusivity and online harassment directed at players.
