Woking and Southend United draw 1-1 at Kingfield Stadium

Woking and Southend United played to a 1-1 draw at Kingfield Stadium in a National League match on August 31. Harry Cardwell opened the scoring for Southend United with a penalty in the 38th minute. Woking responded on the hour-mark when Aiden O'Brien converted a goal at the third attempt. Goalkeeper Joe Duncan preserved the point for Southend United by making several saves, including a late stop on an 88th-minute free-kick from Jake Forster-Caskey. Woking keeper Will Jaaskelainen also contributed a notable save to deny Cardwell a second goal just before halftime.
