Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked manager Rob Edwards, who failed to save the club from relegation after taking over last November. Despite signing a three-and-a-half-year deal, Edwards could not improve a team that ended the season last in the Premier League. The club is now targeting César Peixoto, currently the manager of Gil Vicente, as Edwards' replacement. Peixoto led Gil Vicente to a sixth-place finish in the Primeira Liga last season and previously played for clubs including Porto and Benfica.
- •Rob Edwards was appointed last November after Vítor Pereira's sacking.
- •Wolves finished at the bottom of the Premier League with 2 points from 11 matches.
- •César Peixoto has experience managing in the Primeira Liga and previously played professionally in Portugal.
