Wood Ducks maintain dominance with 13-2 win over Four Corners

In the first round of the Class B state amateur baseball tournament, the Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks secured a commanding 13-2 victory against Four Corners on August 9 in Mitchell. The Wood Ducks capitalized on defensive errors from Four Corners, who committed 10 errors during the game. The Wood Ducks scored three runs in the third, fifth, and eighth innings, culminating in a four-run ninth. Curtis Flint led the Wood Ducks' offense with four RBIs. Drew Eldeen earned the win, allowing four hits and two runs over four innings. The Wood Ducks' next matchup is against the Flandreau Cardinals on August 12. Four Corners recorded two hits from Matt Lusk and scored their runs in the fourth inning, trailing briefly at 3-2.
