Woodland football routs GNH in Jeremy Clark's head coaching debut

Woodland opened its season with a 56-7 win over GNH at Van Why Field on Saturday. Playing under first-year head coach Jeremy Clark, the Hawks finished with 324 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 24 carries. Senior Evan Mastropietro, moving from tight end to quarterback, accounted for three scores while totaling 128 rushing yards and 96 passing yards. Justin Pringle added two interceptions for the defense, including a 63-yard return for a touchdown. GNH scored its only points on a 57-yard run by Airyn Berube but struggled with turnovers, including a pick-six and a botched kickoff. The victory marks a successful debut for Clark, who took over a program that graduated numerous starters following an 11-1 campaign last year.
