Worcester Partnership secures Kingsway Summer League title with late Halloran layup

Worcester Partnership defeated Sullivan, Garrity and Donnelly Insurance 55-54 to win the Kingsway Summer League championship on August 17. In a tense final possession, Cole Binienda assisted Matt Halloran for the game-winning layup with five seconds left. This win marked the fifth-seeded Bancroft School team’s victory over the top-seeded St. John’s team at Crompton Park. Binienda led all scorers with 22 points, while Dante Baither contributed 16 points. Halloran, who transferred to Bancroft from Wachusett, expressed joy in winning the championship. Post-game awards were handed out, including the playoff MVP awarded to Jono Raleigh, who had 17 points in the game.
