Wrexham AFC faces planning review for new pavilion at Colliers Park

Wrexham AFC opened a new pavilion at its Colliers Park training ground before securing the necessary planning permission from the local council. The project, which was largely completed by the time an application was submitted in August, faces a formal review by the council’s planning committee on Monday. The Gresford Community Council expressed frustration regarding the late consultation and raised concerns over the reduction of parking spaces from 89 to 72. Additionally, Natural Resources Wales has requested further details regarding sewage and drainage plans, specifically questioning the potential environmental impact on the River Dee and Bala Lake. Although planning officers have recommended the project for approval, they acknowledged that the retrospective nature of the application presents challenges. Wrexham AFC is owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
