Wrexham aims for Championship play-offs in upcoming season

Wrexham is set to begin their 2026/27 Championship season on August 17 against Cardiff City at Cardiff City Stadium. Last season, they finished seventh, just outside the play-off spots. With the EFL expanding the play-offs to include six teams, Wrexham's chances of reaching the top eight have increased to 35.8%, according to Opta's supercomputer. Previously, their chances would have been 26.2% under the old model. They suffered a defeat earlier this season against Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup.
